![]() There were 4 youngsters in our group and the special menu for them had lots to choose from. We sat out on the deck enjoying the lovely breeze off the water and watching a spectacular sunset. So happy to return for a wonderful family meal ( 14 ) people June 22 for my daughter-in-law's birthday. All in all a perfect I'm glad to be back in the Bronx The service was friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. The seafood specials are all huge, and we decided to go for their "5 course special" (priced nicely at $29.95) this included choice of Manhattan or New England clam chowder, small antipasto (olives, beans, carrots, peppers, cauliflower) with Italian bread and corn bread, a salad, a choice of Maine Lobster or Surf and Turf (6 oz lobster tail, and 8 oz sirloin steak and, a choice of pasta or baked potato, and a choice of dessert (we went for the delicious cheesecake and passed up the apple tart) It felt great to have a lavish seafood dinner while gazing at the waters of City Island. Valet parking makes it easy and you have a choice of eating "al fresco" but we chose to eat by the window inside as it was very warm that evening. We've eaten there before but not for a while. ![]() Not only that, the food was a sorry excuse for sea food.We just returned from four days at Niagara Falls, Ontario and had our first dinner out back in the Bronx. He didn't even give up his insurance information! Well we went ahead and got an estimate from one of our local trusted body shops, Joe and his team said flat out no we will not pay! It's too high! Do not come to Seashore! Their valet guys are always high, and crashing trusted cars into each other. He also told ills it was unnecessary to get a police report, they would pay everything. Joe the manager had given us some paperwork and asked us to come back to his guys shop down the street to get a quick repair(absolutely not!). We continued our dinner then the news was broken to my mother and I about the accident. By the time the gentlemen came out, these untrustworthy snakes put everything back in place. During our meal my husband and brother in law went to the car to get a sweater, they saw some knucklehead from the valet backing a huge Denali into the front end of my mother car! They approached the valet guy, seen the headlight and front bumper hanging off the car! They called my father out so we can proceed to get a report on this. ![]() The only thing positive is that there wasn't a wait. Went there for a nice mother's day dinner, got everything but that. On that, the clientèle here is down to earth, dress is very casual, and as noted, we would go back. I took mine home, and was surprised to get the bread and the butter on the table. But don't forget all the add-on's that the yuppie places don't have. Bill for two, including old person's discount of 10%, was $130. Prices? Not cheap, check out their online menu. Sides of potatoes and veggies are included. I had the stuffed shrimp and was a little piqued because it had fake crab for stuffing instead of the bread stuffing I expected. Hubby had the broiled seafood combo and enjoyed it a lot. So, we had salad - portions of everything were very copious - which was aided nicely by the corn bread. Interestingly, we were steered away from the $29.95 dinner special which brought us there, but we plan to go back again, just to try it. I don't know if I'd say it was great, or if it's as good as Artie's across the street, but it's good. Okay, so you can't eat parking, and a table, and a drink. As noted, ice water and bread and a relish tray are brought out immediately, if not sooner, and the drink order is taken just as quickly. Service is some of the best I've seen, ask for Felix. We were offered a great table on the water, which we never even knew this place had. Although Don Coqui is next door, so I guess that's the 'happening' place. They have two bars, if that's your intent. Speaking of which, I remember well their predecessor Anna's Harbor Inn from my childhood. The restaurant is HUUGE, I can't imagine this place at capacity, how they deal with all the meals, but I guess they do. We read here some scary comments about the valets, don't know if they are true, so found a parking spot on the street. ![]() First, it's not a yuppie's kind of place. ![]()
